What Our Clients Say

We engaged MaxDwell's Garry Braams to prepare and sell our house. Garry's expertise and open communications ensured that we were completely involved in the whole process from setting the preparation budget to the sale itself. The advice Garry provided and his recommendations were invaluable and led to us achieving a sale price higher than the independent appraisal following the preparation. We would thoroughly recommend Garry to anyone looking to prepare their house for sale.

At a time when I was overwhelmed with the maintenance of my large home and property, you gave me advice about what tasks and what kind of budget was needed to ready my home for sale. The fact that you were able to cover the cost of these works, with an interest free loan and then project manage the labor through your network of tradies, was a weight off my shoulders, as I continued to work full time and look after my children. You undertook the repair of rotting decks, wildly overgrown gardens at both front and back, plumbing issues, repainting, decluttering and removal of mountains of rubbish and unwanted structures like sheds, as well as innumerable smaller handyman jobs.
The Maximising report you provided to prospective buyers was pivotal in getting the right price for my place. This clearly displayed the potential of the property, with details of rental property opportunities on the site as well as any further costs that might be desired to renovate, with actual quotes and plans already acquired and drawn up. This is above and beyond what any other agencies offered me.
You were wonderful at guiding me through the sale process so much so that I then went on to employ you to act as my Buyer’s agent. Knowing my situation as a single mum, looking to downsize with 2 young boys and a dog, you accompanied me as I tried to navigate the market on the northern beaches. You advised me with honesty and integrity, as we searched for compatible properties, dealt with agents, attended opens and auctions, checked on building and strata reports, negotiated the final terms and worked through contracts. I could not be more happy with the result and I now have a home for my family that I love. One I can manage with no mortgage as well as some savings in the bank.
I am not exaggerating when I say it felt like the universe sent me an angel at a time when I was alone and didn’t know how I was going to manage the mammoth task ahead of me.

I have known Garry Braams since 2003 when we met at a real estate seminar in Perth. Neither of us could have predicted this meeting would begin a two-decade-long friendship and profitable business relationship. Garry has been an asset to me in many and varied property dealings, initially acting as a buyer’s agent for house and land packages I was selling in Western Australia. Our paths serendipitously crossed again when my family and I purchased a house he had developed in Balmain, after our move to Sydney. (Some years on he resold that same house for us as our agent).
Since then, Garry has been my go-to agent for my property business in both Western Australia and also Cronulla, Ultimo, and Lake Macquarie in NSW (where I now call home). His “nose” for the market is undeniable, substantiated by the exceptional growth of Teralba, NSW, where I am part of a syndicate in an ongoing project that he has put together; a suburb that has been recognized as the highest growth area in Australia over the past five years. His range of experience in building, investing, leasing, selling and agency work all combine to make him a bit more than just a savvy real estate professional.
Personal qualities; Garry has a proven record as a genuine family man, a dedicated husband and father, honest in his business and personal dealings and a loyal friend.

For nearly thirty years, I've had the distinct pleasure of calling Garry Braams not just an acquaintance, but a dear friend—a friendship that blossomed back when Garry was crafting quality homes in Sydney’s Inner West, particularly in Balmain. His collaboration with the talented architect Martin McGrane led to a series of residences that were not just structures but homes that carried the signature of ‘Braams and McGrane’ craftsmanship.
It was Garry who encouraged me to dip my toes into the property market. I was keen and had the means, but lacked confidence and was nervous to take the first step. His persuasive nudge came to fruition with a project on Wentworth Street, Toongabbie, where I secured a townhouse—thanks to Garry’s shrewd bulk buying negotiation—10% below the asking price at $340K. Heeding his advice to hold the property for five years paid off handsomely; I sold it for $620K, nearly doubling my investment. Following this success, I invested in a Speers Point project in 2011 for a similar amount, which is now valued at just shy of $900K.
Garry is more than a real estate savant; he's a steadfast companion who genuinely believes in the power of 'having a go.' His guidance is always delivered with the intent to empower and support, embodying the true spirit of camaraderie. Anyone fortunate enough to work with Garry not only gains an ally in real estate but also a loyal friend. I listened, I learned, and now, with several properties to my name, I'm reaping the rewards of his wisdom.

I met Garry Braams through a colleague during a project called Merchant Square in Ultimo back in 2009. His impact was immediate, securing over 90 sales in the project, including negotiating a 15% discount off the list price for the first 18 sales as a buyer's agent. This early success led to Garry being offered the strata management for the project, a role he excelled in and subsequently passed on to me when he established Plan2Strata. Since taking over, I've managed the strata for Merchant Square among other properties, a role made possible by Garry's initial trust and guidance.
Garry's knack for pinpointing lucrative investment opportunities in areas poised for growth led me to 'off plan' purchase a 2-bedroom apartment at Eastside Apartments in Charlestown. This investment has significantly appreciated in value from $335K to close to $550K. Additionally, Garry's recent conversion of my long-term rental into a short-stay rental showcased his adaptability and expertise, enhancing the property's value in less than three weeks. Garry is not only a fount of knowledge on property selling and buying but also a dependable friend who's always ready to provide detailed advice on any real estate query. His professionalism and friendship have been instrumental in my success in the real estate realm.
